Privacy policy

This site is personal. It presents my studies and my work. It sells nothing, and it has no forms, accounts or mailing list. This page sets out what happens to information when you visit.

Who is responsible

I am: Lara Wahab, in Casablanca, Morocco. For anything on this page, write to hi@larawahab.com.

What I collect

I do not ask you for personal information. If you write to me, I receive your email address, your name if you give it, and your message. I use them only to reply and to keep our correspondence. They are held in my email account, with my email provider.

I do not sell or rent information, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles.

Visit statistics

I use the analytics built into Framer, the platform that hosts this site. It counts visits and pages viewed, and estimates where visitors come from, their country and their type of device. It uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers. Framer states that it does not collect information that identifies a person.

Hosting

Framer B.V. hosts the site, at Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands. As with any website, its servers receive your IP address and basic technical details, such as your browser and the time of your visit, to deliver the pages and keep them secure. Framer processes this on my behalf. Its own practices are set out in the Framer privacy statement.

Files loaded from other services

Some pages load files from other services. When they do, your browser connects to that service, which receives your IP address and the address of the page.

• Google Fonts, for the typefaces, on every page.
• unpkg, for the 3D library behind the desk on the Person page.
• rss2json and Medium, for the list of my Medium articles and their images.
• jsDelivr, for a PDF tool, only when you download a featured paper. It adds the watermark in your browser.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy.

Cookies and storage in your browser

The site uses no cookies for tracking or advertising. It keeps a few of your choices in your browser's storage, such as how much you want to read, light or dark, and language, so they hold from page to page. They stay on your device and are not sent to me. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Links to other sites

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Medium and other sites lead to services with their own policies. I am not responsible for them.

Your rights

You may ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, and object to its use. Write to hi@larawahab.com, and I will reply within 30 days. These rights come from Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of personal data and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation. You may also contact Morocco's data protection authority, the CNDP, or the authority where you live.

How long I keep it

Correspondence, for as long as it serves our exchange, or less if you ask. Visit statistics are held by Framer in aggregate form.

Where it is processed

Framer and the services above may process data outside Morocco, including in the European Union and the United States.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
